SNOW!!!

Although today's snow was not technically the first snow Naomi has seen, it is definitely the MOST snow she's ever seen! Right now we have almost a foot of snow, and it is still coming down. This afternoon we did a little snowy photo shoot. Enjoy!

Overall, Naomi seemed fascinated by the white stuff falling out of the sky. She had been very cranky right before we went out, but was all smiles, squeals and laughs once we were out there.

Family portrait!

With Daddy...

With Mommy...

Right before her snowy face-plant! She was trying to crawl in the snow, then stuck her face right into it. She was a little shocked at the coldness of it, and almost cried...but like the little Viking baby she is, she just sucked in her breath a bit and got over it. :)

Naomi is 6 months old!

Actually, she's 6 and 1/2 months old now, but yesterday we took her for her 6 month photo shoot. What fun! Naomi did so great - i swear she was hamming it up for the camera couple of times. So here are some of my favorites.

A little Selah

A few weeks ago we took Naomi to Camp Selah, my parents' little relaxation spot in the Massachusetts woods. The trip up was a little rough, the trip back a little less rough, but our time there was wonderful! My parents and my younger sister were there, and we had a relaxing time just being together. The weather was rainy on our first day but the sun came out on the second day so we got a little time down at the pond. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the trip!
Okay, so this is what my child looks like when she's in the middle of a "i've been in the car way too long" meltdown. Fun times. Especially when we're on a highway, or in traffic, or stuck at red lights, or other situations where there's not much we can do but listen to the screaming. But fortunately, we arrived soon after this particular meltdown (one of many that day), and once she was in her Poppy's arms, Naomi was just fiiiine. (see below)

Here are some pictures from our afternoon at the pond:

Here we have Naomi doing one of her very favorite things - staring at and studying someone's clothes. Here it happens to be Grammy's swimsuit with which she's enthralled. She can go 10 minutes like this, studying like she's going to have to recreate that pattern the next day or something.

This next one i'm including because it makes me literally belly-laugh out loud every time i see it. This is my sister and my dad, being complete goofballs together, which they happen to be very good at doing. LOL

I'll end with another staring event - this one from our last morning there. Apparently Naomi felt the need to memorize the paisley pattern on Grammy's shirt...perhaps she's planning a stamping/scrapping/papercrafting project using these colors??! Who knows what goes on in that little brain...

Smile for the camera!

Today i finally managed to capture Naomi's smile! She's been smiling quite a bit for the last week or so, but never when i have the camera handy. Well, today she woke up from a nap and started smiling away at me. I grabbed the camera and started snapping - i got at least 10 big smiles! I was shooting without a flash, and i am no photographer, so some of them are pretty blurry. But here are the best shots! I dare you to look at these and NOT crack a smile yourself!

A (Sun)day in the life

What an interesting day yesterday turned out to be! A reminder that we now have little one determining the schedule.

As we were trying to get out the door to church, Naomi suddenly had a screaming fit, at the same time ruining her outfit and going through 2 diapers in a row. Got her calmed down, changed, and then tried to put her in the car seat - to no avail; she started screaming bloody murder again. Poor thing was so miserable that we decided i'd stay home from church.

Later in the day, we planned to drive to the shore to see John's family...again, to no avail. The A/C in the car is broken, so the hot car was pretty miserable for all of us. And then about 30 miles from home Naomi got herself so worked up, there was just no way we could keep driving. Especially knowing we'd be making the return trip just a few hours later. So we gave up on the whole idea and headed back home.

The above picture was taken later in the day, as Naomi and John were hanging out together in the living room. I guess she just wanted to be home for the day!

Rockport!

Naomi went on her first road trip this weekend. My sisters and i took her along to Rockport, Massachusetts, where we used to live (many years ago). It was a little chilly, but we had a great time! I have more pictures from our weekend on my facebook page, and also over at chadwickandlevay.shutterfly.com. You'll need the password for my shutterfly page - just drop me an email if you'd like to have it.
